I am a fan of Alberta Ferretti. Always have, always wil be. So I guess it isn't a surprise that I loved this collection!
Her S/S 12 show for Philosophy has been described as "a vision of Romantic Perfection" and one can see why.
Ferretti presented a mixture of tonal embellishment, sequins and appliqued flowers; all on beautiful woven silks including silk crepe and satin. In my opinion, the most breathtaking pieces from this collection were the drop waisted shift dresses, all adorned with intricate beading. I especially liked the way they were applied tone on tone, and featured designs ranging from art deco and slight tribal patterns. You would feel like a princess if you wore one of these dresses!
I also particularly liked some of the more tailored pieces, such as the silk playsuit (look number 6 from below)...how cute is that!!?? It features v-neck squared peter pan, concealed fastening at centre front and pleats...
I also love the long line tailored blazer in those stunning colours...canary yellow and lilac..who would have thought they would look so right together!
BRAVA!
