Oh my lord, I love this collection.
Vera Wang was inspired by Alice in Wonderland and managed to take this overused theme and bring it to the 21st century! hurrah!
At NYFW one of the major trends emerging is sport silhouettes with a relaxed look to them, all with colour block panels.
I like the way Vera Wang has taken it to another level. She has introduced print, form and femininity, all in an effortless way it seems.
In come the structured bodices with drawstring waists, volumous peplums and sexy cutouts that all nod to the S&M trend currently seen worn by Lady Gaga, Kay Perry and Rihanna. Only that Wang has managed it to turn it classy and understated...I could see wearing some of the pieces (look 1 and look 5) when doing the not so glamourous shopping at Asda/Tesco. I really could. I didn't say it wouldn't turn a few heads though!
I've put below my favourite looks and details from Wang's collection.
I love: L-R drawsting contoured panels, cutout and layering detail, sheer maxi curved cutout at leg, contour panels colour block/print combination, print with contrast piping (plus if I had her legs I would buy x 2 of those sheer trousers and would definately wear them all the time) printed chiffons maxis (what's not to like...colour block and print...you would actually feel like a goddess if you wore the cobalt blue one)
