That Gold Dress!!!

Elie Tahari, please send me the following from your SS12 collection, as I simply must have them.......
k thaaaaanks.

From the first look out on the catwalk I was hooked.  I am loving the use of washed out, light colours combined to create a soft colour palette....throw in some shiny gold metal and you've got my full attention, being the big magpie that I am.
I love the casual shirts that Tahari introduces in this collection, although she has kept them quite minimal, its the beautiful woven fabrics that make them into must haves...aaah to have that quality on the high street...tis but a dream.
I'm seeing a lot of gold detailing being used here and there for SS12...the third look particularly reminded me of Gucci's SS12 Pre-Collection (they pared a white, collared shirt, with a striped leather black/gold number) and they too had a pweeeetty shiny metal dress.  Whether it turns out to be a major trend or not, I am a fan.
As well as the gorgeous fabric combinations of light chiffon, crepe and metal sequins, I am also a fan of the details she has introduced into some of the pieces.  Double/triple collars and pleating introduced at necklines and waist.  All of them done in a subtle way by keeping it tonal and highlighting perhaps the top layer.  What a lovely way of spicing things up.  He explains it all below in one simple quote:

"Clothing should be quieter than the woman so that her true beauty can shine through"
